CLEANING AND CARE OF SAMARTH CARPETS
Basic rules of use:
1. Wool, thanks to the content of natural lanolin and its characteristic features, is resistant to dirt and stains – it will look great for a long time thanks to regular vacuuming.
2. High-quality wool, very soft, fluffy, with fine fibers, 4 to 12 cm long, is obtained from Merino sheep, called New Zealand wool. In our carpets it is used in the ABSTRACT collection.
3. Thanks to its properties, wool has:
- excellent thermal insulation properties
- excellent soundproofing properties
- high hygroscopicity
- absorption of UV radiation
4. New Zealand wool is hypoallergenic.
5. A natural property of woolen carpets is “wool dusting” for the first few months depending on the type of carpet, this is a natural phenomenon that occurs in hand-knotted carpets, especially in trimmed-pile carpets.
6. Dusting of the carpet is not the basis for a complaint against the carpet, unless it causes “bald areas” on the carpet.
7. During the use of hand-woven carpet, single fibers may appear above the surface of the carpet. Such fibers must not be pulled out, they should be carefully trimmed with scissors. Single-fiber break-out is a natural property of hand-woven carpets, not a manufacturing defect of the carpet.
8. In the case of heavy soiling – not more than once a year, it is recommended to clean the carpet in professional centers with appropriately selected detergents. It is important to specify the fiber composition of the carpet before cleaning.
9. In the event of water flooding – dry immediately with a paper towel and allow the carpet to dry. After a few days, the hair will stand up. In case of stains, clean any stains with mild soap and cold water and proceed as in the case of flooding.
10. On wool carpets, do not use oxygen-based cleaners.
11. To prevent fading, avoid direct sunlight. Constant exposure to sunlight may cause the carpet to fade.
Wool carpets with art-silk / viscose:
1. The best quality viscose used in the production of Samarth carpets is bamboo silk obtained from natural bamboo fibers, which can be found in the ABSTRACT collection.
2. Wool carpets with the addition of viscose combine the properties of wool and viscose carpets. Wool provides durability, elasticity and thickness, while viscose gives the noble shine of silk, makes the carpet soft and pleasant to the touch.
3. Wool carpets with the addition of rayon (viscose) will look great thanks to regular vacuuming. You should systematically vacuum the carpet with the vacuum pipe only, without the use of brushes.
4. Do not allow wool carpets with added viscose to get and stay wet for a longer time, this may damage the carpet fibers and potentially damage the floor under the carpet. In the event of water flooding – dry immediately with a paper towel and allow the carpet to dry. After a few days, the hair will stand up.
5. To avoid shrinkage, when cleaning wool, use a little cool water, then soak it up with a clean cloth or paper towel.
6. In the event of light soiling, immediately clean the stains with cold water and mild soap, then proceed as in the case of flooding.
7. Oxygen-based cleaners should not be used on wool and viscose carpets.
8. Use only professional cleaning detergents – dry powder cleaning is best.
9. To prevent fading, avoid direct sunlight. Constant exposure to sunlight may cause the carpet to fade.
ATTENTION! Because of the hand weaving of carpets and the natural coloring of the fibers used in the manufacture of the carpets, their size, composition and color may vary insignificantly.
What to do when the carpet arrives damaged?
Each carpet is checked before packing and shipping it to the customer. If the goods were damaged during delivery, please contact us immediately after receiving the carpet.
